The Engineering Society is an RSO at UChicago for students interested in building things. The goal of our RSO is to act as a central hub for students, both undergrad and grad, who are interested in engineering at a school where there are few outlets for such activities. We aim to provide a fun and welcoming place for students to learn new skills and build cool things!
Each quarter we host workshops, guest speakers, competitions, and projects to give students fun ways to spend time and build engineering skills. Our workshops and projects instruct students in all skills they need to participate in them, so no previous skills or experience are required or expected.
In the past, our projects and workshops have included rockets, electronics/robotics, and 3D printing.
How to Get Involved
If you’re new to the Engineering Society, there are a few ways you can get involved. You can join our Facebook Group and subscribe to our listhost to stay informed about what we have going on, we’ll be posting updates about our events on those.
If you want to meet some members or work on a project, we have a weekly Project Night. Feel free to pop in and out at your convenience. If you want to suggest your own project to be funded, you can do so here.
We’ll be posting about upcoming events for this year on Facebook when we get the details nailed out.
Hope to see you soon!
